What?
Every setting related to your account is in one place: your name and password, which permissions you've given, where your data resides, downloading your data, and deleting your account. Most settings are in the web panel; mobile has some of them, and desktop only has sign-out.
To avoid confusion about which setting is in which app, check this table first:
| Action | 🌐 Web panel | 📱 Mobile | 🖥️ Desktop |
|---|---|---|---|
| Changing name | Yes | No | No |
| Changing password | Yes | Yes | No |
| Changing email address | Yes | No | No |
| Cross-border AI processing consent | Yes | Yes | No |
| Cloud archive consent | Yes | Yes | No |
| Marketing (email) permission | Yes | No | No |
| Download My Data (KVKK) | Yes | Yes | No |
| Permanently delete account | Yes | Yes | No |
| Signing out | Yes | Yes | Yes |
ℹ️ Important: This information is for guidance only; it does not replace professional accounting advice. Regulations and amounts change, and the outcome varies by the taxpayer's specific situation. Consult your SMMM/YMM (certified accountant) for definitive action. LA Fish does not decide — it only raises flags.
How?
🌐 Web panel — all settings are here
Go into the Panel and open the Settings heading from the left menu. The top of the page reads Your account and privacy settings; the cards below follow in order.
Updating your name, password, and email
- Name Edit the Name field in the Profile Information card and press Update. The email box on the same card is disabled — that's done in a separate card.
- Password Fill in the Current Password, New Password (at least 8 characters), and New Password (Repeat) fields in the Change Password card and press Change Password. When the password changes, sessions on all devices close; you sign in again on your phone and computer.
- Email Fill in the New Email and Your Password fields in the Change Email Address card and press Change Email. A confirmation link goes to the new address; until that link is clicked, your account keeps working with the old address.
Permission and consent preferences
- Open the card The Permission and Consent Preferences card has three separate checkboxes; each is independent of the others.
- Marketing permission Check it if you want to receive campaign, discount, and product news by email. Turning it off doesn't affect how your account works.
- Cross-border AI processing consent Approves transferring your data to servers outside Turkey for AI-powered processing. While it's off, AI reading doesn't work — your receipt image isn't sent to the server.
- Cloud Receipt Archive consent Allows your read receipts (with their images, if any) to be stored permanently in the archive. Details: Cloud archive and multiple devices.
- Save No change is processed without pressing Save Preferences. Each save is kept together with its date.
Downloading your data and deleting your account
- Download your data The Download My Data (JSON) button in the KVKK Data Rights card downloads the records about you in a single file: your account information, membership, payment records, the consents you've given, your company/taxpayer records, the receipt rows in your archive, your invoice profile, and your accounting rules. Your accounting-software access information appears masked in the file — passwords aren't dumped as plain text.
- Download before deleting If you're thinking about deleting your account, get this file first. It can't be obtained after deletion.
- Open the deletion card Press Permanently Delete Account in the Delete Account card.
- Confirm In the window that opens, enter your password, type HESAP SİL into the confirmation box (the web panel uses this phrase in every language) and press Delete Account. If you change your mind, there's Cancel.
- Store subscription If you have an ongoing App Store or Google Play subscription, a warning appears before deletion: deleting your account does not cancel the store subscription. Cancel it in the store first, then continue.
- Sign out If you just want to close the session instead of deleting, Sign Out at the top right is enough.
If you get stuck: If the button in the deletion window doesn't work, check the text you typed into the confirmation box: HESAP SİL must be typed exactly. Extra leading/trailing spaces or lowercase letters invalidate the confirmation. If a "wrong password" message appears, the window stays open so you can re-enter it; after several wrong attempts in a row you're asked to wait a few minutes for security.
📱 Mobile app
Open the Account tab from the bottom tabs. Settings are listed card by card going down.
- Change password Your email shows in the Security card; the Change Password button below it opens a window asking for Current password, New password (at least 8 characters), and New password (repeat). When it's done, an "All sessions closed for security" notice appears and you sign in again with your new password.
- Name and email Not available on mobile. As it also says under the card, changing your email address is done from the web panel; so is your name.
- Cross-border AI processing consent The Cross-border AI processing consent switch in the AI Reading card. If you turn it off, AI reading doesn't work.
- Cloud archive consent The Store Receipts in the Cloud switch in the Cloud Receipt Archive card. The cloud archive is on every plan, Free included, so this card shows for everyone; how much image space you get in the cloud depends on your plan — see Storage quota.
- Download your data The Download My Data (KVKK) button in the Legal card prepares the file and opens the phone's share menu. You save it from there or send it to yourself.
- Legal texts The same card has links to Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and the KVKK Disclosure Text.
- Sign out 🚪 Sign Out at the bottom of the page.
- Delete account The Delete Account button at the very bottom opens a confirmation window; typing DELETE into the box (and, in the current app version, entering your password) enables the Permanently Delete button. If you have an ongoing store subscription, a warning appears first; deleting your account doesn't cancel it.
If you get stuck: On mobile, if you close the share menu that opens when you press Download My Data (KVKK) without choosing a destination, the file isn't saved anywhere — don't assume the button didn't work, try again from the start. If you want a permanent copy, it's easier to keep the file downloaded from the web panel on your computer.
🖥️ Desktop app
There's no account settings screen on desktop. Password, email, consents, data download, and account deletion aren't done from here — these are done in the web panel.
- Who's signed in The 👤 tag at the top right shows the email and plan of the signed-in account.
- The first-launch confirmation The first time you open the app, the Terms of Use and Privacy text appears; your approval of it is recorded on your account.
- Switching to the panel When you attempt something account-related or click a feature your plan doesn't include (e.g. exporting on the Free tier), the box that appears has a Go to Panel button; it opens the panel in your browser.
- Sign out / switch account 🚪 Sign Out on the toolbar closes the session on the server and returns you to the sign-in screen.
If you get stuck: The ⚙️ Settings button on desktop is not an account setting — it's for column visibility/order and the image-processing engine. Don't look for account settings there.
Why is it like this?
Why are most settings only in the web panel? Actions like password, email, and deletion affect your entire account and are hard to undo. Gathering them in one place removes the chance that the same setting behaves differently across three apps. The panel also opens on any device without installing anything.
Why does changing your password sign you out everywhere? One reason for changing your password is the suspicion that "someone else might know this password." If old sessions stayed open, changing the password wouldn't lock that person out. That's why a password change invalidates sessions on all devices — you're asked to sign in again on your phone, computer, and browser.
Why are consents separate? Because they're given for different things. AI consent means "the image may be transmitted to servers abroad to be read"; archive consent means "let the read receipt be stored permanently"; marketing permission is only about receiving email. Turning one off doesn't turn off another. Turning off archive consent stops new receipts from being archived; if you want to remove records that are already sitting in the archive, you need to delete them one by one or delete your account.
Where does your data reside?
| Data | Where it resides | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Your account information (email, name) | On our servers in Turkey | Your password isn't stored in readable form |
| Receipt fields in the archive | On our servers in Turkey | Only if you've given cloud archive consent |
| Receipt images | On our servers in Turkey, encrypted | Counts toward your plan's storage space — Storage quota |
| Tax ID / national ID number fields | Encrypted | Shown in the clear only in an export that belongs to you |
| The image during AI reading | Transmitted to servers abroad if you've given consent | Not retained by us once reading is finished |
| Your accounting-software access information | Encrypted | Appears masked in the export file |
| Payment and invoice records | On our servers in Turkey | The full card number and CVC aren't stored |
The full list of which data is processed for what purpose and for how long is laid out as a table in the KVKK Disclosure Text; for the general framework, see the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
What exactly does deleting your account do?
It can't be undone. The moment you confirm, your payment methods and invoice profile (including your national ID number), the receipts and images in your cloud archive, your company/taxpayer records, your accounting rules, the access information for the accounting connections you've set up, and any reading jobs waiting in the queue at that time are permanently deleted. Your account is anonymized and all sessions are closed. No copy is kept that could let you come back and say "I deleted it, can you undo it" — the right to deletion only means something if it's actually deleted.
Payment and invoice records that are legally required to be kept, however, remain — but they're kept with their personal link severed; they can no longer be traced back to you. That's why you shouldn't skip the Download My Data step before deleting.
If you get stuck: If you don't want to delete your account but want to end your subscription, these aren't the same thing. Canceling membership is a separate matter and your account stays open — see the Membership and payment page. You can also reach us through the Contact page for a deletion request or a KVKK application.
